Buddha

I’ve wondered, as I am sure countless others have, why Art so often seems tied to the tragic. I read in a book on Zen recently that sadness pulls us into the ego; or rather, the happier we are, the more we approach a state of ego-less-ness, and so our ego, naturally, is drawn to the tragic.
Hmmmmmmm. Am I the only one who sees a connection here to adolescents?

No. But I do think that’s unfair to teens; I can name more than a few adults it’s true for also.
