Civic space is so vastly ignored these days. Or perhaps its importance has just been forgotten in a world where advertising has raised the individual to obscene heights.
One of our struggles as a Friends school has always been the reconciliation of the individual’s needs and rights versus those of the community. Individuals are, perhaps, always served when they are part of something larger than themselves.
